1. Who is responsible

2. The app itself

ByeCtrlClick collects no data, contains no analytics and no advertising identifiers, and has no account. Your settings stay on your Mac. It makes exactly two kinds of network connection: once, to activate your licence, it contacts the Gumroad API and sends the licence key you entered; and it checks for updates through Sparkle against updates.byectrlclick.com — a normal web request, logged the same way as a page view (see section 4). Nothing else.

The app needs the macOS Accessibility permission to filter mouse events system-wide. This permission is granted by you in System Settings and can be withdrawn there at any time. It is used solely to decide whether a click opens a context menu. Nothing is read, recorded or forwarded.

3. Buying

ByeCtrlClick is sold by Gumroad Inc. (USA), which processes email address and payment data under its own responsibility; see the Gumroad Privacy Policy. I receive the buyer's email address and licence key for activation purposes only. This is not stored elsewhere and not passed on.

4. This website

When you visit this site, technical access data is written to a log file: time of access, the address requested, the amount of data transferred, the status code, the referring page and the browser identifier.

IP addresses are not stored. They are truncated before being written (for IPv4 the last octet is zeroed, for IPv6 only the first two blocks are kept), so no individual person can be identified from the logs. Logs are deleted automatically after 14 days.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — secure operation and troubleshooting.

5. No cookies, no third parties

This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Fonts are served from this site's own server, so no request goes to Google Fonts or any other external provider and your IP address reaches no third party. Nothing on these pages is loaded from another domain.

6. Hosting

The site runs on its own virtual server at netcup GmbH, Karlsruhe, Germany, in a German data centre. netcup acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR; a data processing agreement is in place.

7. Your rights

You have the right to information, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection under Art. 15–21 GDPR, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. In practice there is little to exercise them on here: apart from truncated, non-identifying server logs, no data about you is held.

For anything related to your purchase, the responsible party is Gumroad.
